David Gonzales

A photographer and writer living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, David Gonzales the originator of The Picnic  and TreeFight, author of Jackson Hole — On a Grand Scale, recipient of the Ullr Award for Ski History, and first winner of Wyoming’s Short Film Contest.

David Gonzales is best known for inventing a home-grown mountain triathlon known as the Picnic. Where he bikes from town to Jenny Lake, swims the frigid Jenny Lake, then climbs the Grand Teton mountain, and then does it all in reverse! There is no race, no winners, just pure adventure. David has now expanded the Picnic to other locations across the west, and dozens of others have followed suit!
