Wild Wyoming – Bighorn Sheep & Shoshone Petroglyph Tour (Spring/Fall/Winter)

On this tour you will see the best of Wyoming, exploring both Jackson Hole and Dubois, WY including the beautiful Whiskey Basin Wildlife Management Area.  This area outside of Dubois, WY is rich in Shoshone history with hand-carved petroglyphs scattered throughout the valley.  It is also the wintering habitat of the Rocky Mountains’ largest herd of bighorn sheep!  This full day (10-hour) adventure is a fantastic way to get a taste of “real” Wyoming during your visit to Jackson Hole.  The town of Dubois is an old mining town which still has all the charm of Wyoming 100 years ago, and not to mention some great restaurants to stop for lunch!

Description

On this tour you will see the best of Wyoming, exploring Jackson Hole before crossing the Continental Divide and descending to Dubois, (pronounced Do-Boys) and the beautiful Whiskey Basin Wildlife Management Area.  This area is rich in Shoshone history with hand-carved petroglyphs scattered throughout the valley.

It is also the wintering habitat of the Rocky Mountains’ largest herd of bighorn sheep!  We will cast our scopes across large open hillsides which are popular with the herd and other large mammals.

This full day (10-hour) adventure is a fantastic way to get a taste of “real” Wyoming during your visit to Jackson Hole.  The town of Dubois is an old mining town which still has all the charm of Wyoming 100 years ago, but with better restaurants.
