Step-On Guide Service
Step-On Guide Service for Coach Tours
Already have your transportation sorted? We can put one of our expert naturalist guides on your coach.
A step-on guide transforms a coach tour into something far more memorable. Instead of driving past a herd of bison with only a commentary track for company, your group gets a real-time, responsive naturalist who knows where the wildlife will be, what they are doing, and why it matters. Questions get answered on the spot. Unexpected sightings get explained. The whole experience becomes richer.
Your guests will benefit by:
- Seeing more wildlife,
- Spending less time looking for it,
- Getting a better view of it and,
- learning something about it.
Our guides have deep roots in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. They are trained naturalists, not just commentators, and they bring the same expertise and enthusiasm to a coach group as they do to our private tours. Your guide will board your coach at an agreed pickup point in Jackson and stay with your group for the duration of the tour — whether that’s a four-hour introduction to Grand Teton, a full day in Yellowstone, or a multi-day expedition taking in the best of both parks. We cover engagements from half a day up to four days, making us a flexible option for everything from a single excursion to an extended itinerary.
Price Includes:
- Guides: They handle the natural history commentary, wildlife spotting, and any questions your group throws at them — leaving your driver to focus on the road.
- Groups greater than 15 will have two guides to enable quicker set up of spotting scopes at visitation sites
- Binoculars and spotting scopes with phone attachments for easy viewing and taking photographs/video, which can be shared with the guests.
- Auto gratuity
Does Not Include:
- National Park Entry. The Park Service charges commercial tours a fee based on the seating capacity of the vehicle. Generally, we find the tour operator has the most efficient system handling this at the entrance station.
- Snacks or beverages.

What Our Guests Are Saying
The guides were very friendly, knowledgable, and enthusiastic about helping us spot wildlife and get good photos of that and the gorgeous Tetons. Appropriate amount of time for the tour and appreciated the extra time/effort to see the big horn sheep, and the girls help in going to get the lunches.
Liam, Benji, Rachel and Cami were WONDERFUL to work with. Liam's planning and execution were flawless before and during the tour. Liam was extremely prompt in answering my emails leading up to our tour. They were able to pick up our group of 35 people from our hotel in 3 vans. Throughout the tour, there was plenty of stunning photo opportunities. Halfway through the tour, all of our vans got together for our team to enjoy hot chocolate and snacks together, provided by Liam. We saw a heard of bison and a moose! It was a fabulous afternoon, all thanks to Guides of Jackson Hole!
Highly recommended for all of our family, friends and executive clients who visit Jackson Hole. Incredible leadership team and guides, who are passionate and knowledgeable about the outdoors. They focus on quality of experience, not the masses. It’s family owned, you can tell, and feel part of the family when the excursion comes to an end. They have our highest recommendation possible, not only for tourists, but for locals who want their guests in great hands. Always count me as a strong positive reference.
